The latest report after Typhoon Makorat
Dear friends,
You may know from media Taiwan was hit by Typhoon Makorat. Recently we received a lot of letters and calls concerning Taiwan’s situation. Thanks for your comfort and encouragement.
Typhoon Makorat do damage seriously in Taiwan but only in the South, especially in the mountain area. In fact, it is the heaviest in the last 50 years. Luckily, in Taipei & in the North it was just strong wind and not much rain. Now everything is back to its normal track and we are all fine.
After typhoon, our operation department has checked very carefully in every tourist places, and adjusted the originally itinerary if it is needed. Up to now most itineraries are not influenced. Only the road to Alishan is affected. Hotels in Alishan are no problem, but the road to Alishan is damaged. According to our public road construction bureau, the road needs one more month to fix. This means you can visit Alishan again after the end of September. If your itinerary includes Alishan before the road fix, we will suggest you change your itinerary to Lugang (historic city with a lot of traditional handcraft shops) or other attractions.
Wish the current situation will recover soon & hope what we mentioned above can clear up your worries.
Best Regards
Golden Foundation Tours.
