Tarako Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow ravine created by a river which has cut through mountains of solid marble and granite. A road carved into sheer walls of rock snakes its way past forested peak and cliffs towering thousands feet above it, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. Famous spots include the Tunnels of Nine Turns, Swallow Caves, Eternal Shrine and Sha-Ka Den Hiking Trail.
